We invite you to spend a week in beautiful Masouri in Kalymnos, the worlds premier sport climbing destination. We will visit the most esthetic crags guided by climbing instructors and practice Yoga with experienced teachers who also climb and know the climbers needs.
CLIMBING AND YOGA IN KALYMNOS
Kalymnos has become one of the biggest sport climbing destinations in the world during the last 20 years. With over 3000 routes, the island receives about 10000 climbers on a yearly basis. October is one of the best seasons as one can climb both in the sun and in the shade and temperatures make for perfect conditions.
Symmetry Training Innovations arranges courses and retreats in nature combined with Yoga. This year we will visit Kalymnos to climb and experience the best season of the Island as well as practice yoga on a beautifull setting with a magnificent view. On top of that we will also get a big taste of the famous greek cuisine!
THE INSTRUCTORS
Yoga – Thanos Pappas
Thanos has been teaching Yoga since 2008 and was trained as an instuctor in New York and Edimburgh. From 2015 he runs his own school “Symmetry training Innovations” in Athens offering Yoga, Pilates and Cross training classes. The center has also organized various retreats and courses combining Yoga and other sports (trekking, wind surfing).
Thanos also has a long lasting love for climbing as he used to compete as a teenager starting in 1995. He has climbed the famous Tsaranoro massif in Madagascar. He has also trekked extensively in the Alps and Iceland where he has worked in trail maintenance.
This week course brings his 2 great passions together as he believes Yoga can help climbers with their flexibility, recovery and focus.

FAQ
Do I have to bring my yoga mat?
No. we have plenty of mats and we dont want to make your travel more of a hustle.
I am a beginner in rock climbing. Can I participate?
Yes. The places we will visit have routes of all difficulties and are suitable for beginners and experienced climbers alike.
I don’t have any climbing equipment. Can I participate?
We advice participants to come with at least a pair of rock climbing shoes that you have broke in and a helmet as well. In the shops of Masouri you can purchase a helmet in case you don’t own one. We will provide climbing harnesses and some shoes.
I am a more experienced climber. I am worried that the crags we will visit will be too easy.
Most crags in Kalymnos have routes of all levels. You can definetely find harder routes to try.
