CLIMBING GREECE
AGIOS PETROS
Agios Petros is a small village tucked away in the thick green forests of north mount Parnon, Peloponnese, Greece. Together with the surrounding villages, the area offers a wide range of activities and attractions.
The 2 newly bolted sectors of Zonaga and Kakavo, are a nice addition to the already fast developing climbing in the greater area of the Peloponnese.
OVERALL CLIMBING CONDITIONS
Both crags Zonaga and Kakavo are around 850 to 880 meter elevation, in the heart of mount Parnonas. As a result, they have an average temperature of 5 degrees lower than the seaside areas of Greece.
You can find shade or sun almost any time of the day, which makes the area suitable for climbing throughout the year.
Climbing at Agios Petros
In April 2017 Thanasis Kefalas, one of the strongest Athenian climbers, was invited to climb some of the harder routes of the two new sport climbing sectors Zonaga and Kakavo, in Agios Petros of Arcadia.
CLIMBING
The rocks consist of grey-brown and red limestone of very good quality with 90 routes in 2 sectors so far.
Short and easy routes, slabs, faces, tufas and big overhangs with short approaches.
